Wrestling is so gay and so fun to watch (we're WWE and AEW fans so a little different than the moves mentioned and more performance). It often feels like sporty drag because it's all about these personas and over the top presentations. The outfits and make up can be so cool!
Seth Rollins has incredible outfits, Shotzi comes out in a little tank, MJF did a musical number during one show a while back. I'll also throw a shout out to Rhea Ripley who also goes by Mami and is currently Women's Champ. Piper Niven is a bisexual wrestler from Scotland who we're hoping to see show up at the Royal Rumble in February!
PLUS watching and yelling "KISS" when any two wrestlers get in each other's face is very, very fun.
Aww the first part about death and grief couldn’t come at a better time for the Portland/Olympia/Seattle area. We just lost an absolute ICON in our drag queen/king and burlesque community, Dahlia Kash. Dahlia was one of the producers of Melange, a monthly BIPOC queer variety show that has been going for 7 years in Portland, even through the pandemic they were still hosting and managing via zoom! This loss was so sudden and we are crushed. Dahlia had good jokes, good vibes, and good dance moves! She booked and helped support and grow countless performers in our community. She made a space in white-ass Portland that felt like home for so many BIPoC folks. Melange lives on and will be this Sunday to celebrate the fuck out of Dahlia. I was nervous about going. I know I’ll be sad but thanks for the reminders that we will find new ways to love them and honor them. ♥️♥️
Okay, a few days late, but you gotta add women’s hockey to the gayest sports list. If ya don’t believe me, look up the Professional Women’s Hockey League. I’ve seen more PWHL thirst traps than I can count on TikTok lately (goalie Carly Jackson of the Toronto Sceptres comes to mind 👀)
Plus, there are married teammates like Marie-Philip Poulin and Laura Stacey of the Montreal Victoire 💕🏒
Omg wrestling mentioned!!!
